About the test
The three-glass test compares the characteristics of several sequential urine portions for selected urological questions. The distribution of cellular changes between portions may give the doctor additional guidance about the urinary tract. The price-list name does not specify every measurement performed; the components and collection scheme must be confirmed in advance.
The test alone does not precisely locate a disease or replace imaging or targeted tests. An incorrect collection sequence limits comparison between portions. The doctor assesses the result together with symptoms, medical history and other investigations. The reference values of the individual laboratory are used for comparison, and changes over time are considered during follow-up.
