Laboratory recommendations

This includes: urogenital swabs, PCR scrapings (ПЦА groups), bacterial cultures and cytology/Pap tests.

Urogenital tests in women and men

  • For women: for 48 hours before swab collection, completely avoid sexual intercourse, all vaginal suppositories, creams, ointments and tablets, as well as douching and deep washing. Swabs must not be taken during menstruation (the optimal time is 2–3 days after it has completely ended).
  • For men: before a urethral swab, you must strictly refrain from urinating for 2–3 hours (to prevent cells from being washed away by urine flow).

Throat and nasal swabs (ЦТ.004, ОК.150, bacterial cultures МБ.001)

  • Throat swabs: taken strictly on an empty stomach or no earlier than 3–4 hours after the last food, drink or lozenge. Before the procedure, do not brush your teeth, rinse your mouth with water or antiseptics, or chew gum.
  • Nasal swabs: taken before rinsing the nasal passages, clearing mucus or using any medicated drops or sprays.
