About the test
This price-list item concerns group A apolipoproteins, protein components of lipoproteins involved in lipid transport in blood. In clinical practice, individual apolipoproteins are used to further characterise lipid metabolism and cardiovascular risk. The particular protein measured in this item must be clarified because its subtype is not included in the name.
This service cannot automatically be assumed to measure ApoA1 or the ApoB/ApoA1 ratio. It is also not identical to HDL cholesterol or lipoprotein(a). The doctor assesses the result together with symptoms, medical history and other investigations. The reference values of the individual laboratory are used for comparison, and changes over time are considered during follow-up.
