About the test
A complete blood count assesses blood cells and the main red blood cell measurements, helping identify abnormalities in blood formation. It is used when investigating anaemia, infections and other conditions, and to monitor treatment. The components of an extended blood count and the calculated indices should be checked against the laboratory report.
A change in a single measurement may have various causes. This option should not automatically be considered a test including ESR, which is listed separately in the price list. The doctor assesses the result together with symptoms, medical history and other investigations. The reference values of the individual laboratory are used for comparison, and changes over time are considered during follow-up.
