About the test
This test combines semen analysis with assessment of morphology, the shape and structure of sperm. Morphological assessment complements information about sperm count and motility when investigating reproductive function. The particular criteria used to assess shape and the other included parameters should be clarified with the laboratory.
The proportion of particular sperm forms does not by itself predict whether pregnancy will occur. The significance of the result is assessed together with other measurements and investigation of both partners. The doctor assesses the result together with symptoms, medical history and other investigations. The reference values of the individual laboratory are used for comparison, and changes over time are considered during follow-up.
