About the test
The NCMT panel tests for Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Chlamydia trachomatis, Mycoplasma genitalium and Trichomonas vaginalis in a scraping specimen. This is a limited list of infectious targets, rather than a comprehensive analysis of the entire microbiota.
The doctor compares the results for individual organisms with symptoms and the sampling site. A negative panel does not exclude other causes of inflammation; antibiotic susceptibility is not included in this test’s designation.
